Cosmic Smash Booking is an intentional creativity practice, which invites us to name our desires and work toward them.
Your Cosmic Smash Book itself is your first invitation. Like you, it has a hidden inside and a visible outside. The hand-made cover is an important part of this pattern.
On the inside (the hidden side) of the cover paper you write your intention, your hope, your dream of what you want to do with this particular book at this specific time. You can scribble, write, mindmap… until it is all there. It does not need to be readable, but it must feel resonant, exciting and a little dangerous. Of course, this text will disappear, once you wrap it around your book, but it won’t be gone! Your intention will pull you forward, out of your comfort zone, into the territory you want to explore!
Flipping your cover paper over to the outside, the visible “cover” side, you use colours, images, words to capture the dream of what this book will hold. This is the visible version of the hidden writing on the reverse side. It does not need to be ‘pretty’ or ‘realistic’ – an abstract collection of lines and colours may be just what you need to remind yourself of your intention.
Most important is your intention. Here is the question:

With what attitude or mood do you want to make the journey?
